What we cannot help with
We cannot diagnose your specific problem from photographs, tell you whether a particular quote is fair, or act for you in a dispute with a landlord. Those need someone on site or someone qualified to advise.
If that is what you need:
- A dispute with a social landlord. Start with their complaints process, then the Housing Ombudsman. Our Awaab's Law guide covers the deadlines they have to meet.
- A dispute with a private landlord. Shelter and Citizens Advice both give free advice, and your council's environmental health team can inspect the property.
- Health concerns. Speak to your GP, or use NHS 111.
- Getting the work costed. The cost calculator gives you a range to sanity check a quote against.
